Cinco Margaritas For Cinco De Mayo

Day two of the “Blog Every Day in May” challenge requires that I link up my top 5 posts. Since I’ve been blogging for less than a month and have maybe 5 posts total, I decided to take creative license on this topic and put together a list of Cinco Margaritas for Cinco de Mayo instead, featuring the top 5 unique margarita recipes on the web. ¡Qué rico!

So grab your limes and salt those rims, cause these margaritas are fiesta-ready:

1. Mojita-rita

  • Ice
  • 2 ounces añejo tequila
  • 1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice (from  about 1 medium lime)
  • 1/2 ounce John D. Taylor’s Velvet Falernum
  • 3 fresh mint sprigs
  • 1 1/2 ounces sparkling water, chilled

Get the full recipe here.

Mojito? Good. Margarita? Gooooood. Mix them together? Mojita-rita! Hispanic overload in a drink if I ever saw one. ¡Salud!

2. Lime Sherbet Margaritas

  • 1 pint lime sherbet
  • Juice of two limes
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 ounces tequila
  • 4 ounces triple sec
  • 2 cups ice cubes

I feel like the kid in me and the margarita-loving collegiate in me just came together in glorious tequila-sherbet harmony.

3. Strawberry Blood Orange Margarita

  • 2 teaspoons fine granulated sugar
  • 1 lime
  • 1 1/2 medium-sized blood oranges
  • 1 1/2 ounces tequila
  • 1/2 ounce of orange liqueur
  • Ripe strawberries
  • Orange for garnish

Aren’t blood oranges fancy? They’re not something you see every day. Surprise your guests this Cinco de Mayo with a strawberry blood orange margarita that looks as good as it tastes!

Another heavenly mixture–beer and margaritas. What boozy genius comes up with this stuff??

5. Coconut Creamsicle Margarita

I saved the best for last. This margarita looks like the Caribbean in a cup! Plus it’s a little healthier with its use of coconut milk and water–a win all around!

Dang some of those look really good.

Why limit it to Cinco De Mayo though? Definitely looks like a good relaxing drink on a Friday or Saturday night, especially during those hot summer nights!

    • Twenties Chic Blog says:

Haha agreed! I fully support the use of any of the above recipes for holidays, weekends, or just to get through that long Tuesday night! Glad you enjoyed the post :)
