Brunch on a Budget: Love is Blind

Brunch on a Budget

Happy Sunday everyone!

As you may know, one of my favorite weekend activities is going to brunch, so I decided to put together Twenties Chic’s “Brunch on a Budget” series, featuring brunch destinations in South Florida with unlimited mimosas for $15 or less!

This is the third installment of the series, and this time I decided to head down to Miami–Coral Gables to be exact. I’d heard about Love is Blind, a restaurant right near the Village of Merrick Park but tucked away enough that you don’t have to deal with the same crowds.

As soon as I got there, I found street parking–score! Only $1.25/hr.

While this particular restaurant does not have unlimited mimosas per se, they have $.99 mimosas, and that works out even better for me! If you can scarf down more than 15 and still remain standing, kudos. If you drink less, your meal is even more affordable! Overall I spent under $30, and look at everything I got!

First, quite a few mimosas, and of a pretty decent size too!

Each entrée is $17.99 and includes an appetizer of your choice. I chose to get the ham and cheese croquettes to start–they were so good, they didn’t make it to the picture.

For my entrée, I was going to try something new but I went with my tried and true favorite, chicken and waffles.

They were absolutely amazing–I have no regrets. Belgian waffles topped with Applewood smoked bacon and chicken tenderloins. The dish also came with a side of seasoned fajita breakfast potatoes.

My friend ordered eggs benedict, which came served with slow roasted pulled pork over an English muffin and topped with hollandaise sauce. Her meal was also served with a side of their signature breakfast potatoes. Yum!

Then for dessert, they had three options–flan, a make your own brownie creation, or nutella pizza with strawberries and bananas.

MenuWe got the last two desserts–the nutella pizza and the brownie creation–and shared them. Unfortunately, the nutella pizza also didn’t make it to a picture, but this is my friend’s delicious brownie creation:

Can you tell she does this for a living?? Shameless plug–if you haven’t yet, check out her all natural coconut butters at www.sweetspreads.com.

Overall, brunch was a success. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a great weekend deal in Miami.

Till next time, happy brunching!

Brunch is one of my favorite things in life, especially if it comes with bottomless mimosas! That’s the way to my heart, right there! x

I’m going to have to follow this series! I’ve been wanting to get out and explore a bit in the area and need some destinations! I haven’t done brunch in a while, but now that I go to church on Saturdays, I’m all good for brunch on Sunday! Thanks for sharing.
